Finances
The Finances section is where JMS handles money-related setup.
Think of it like a price list + billing control room:
- What you charge
- How much things cost
- How clients get billed
- How revenue is shared
This guide matches the Finances Superdemo video.
What you’ll find in Finances
Section titled “What you’ll find in Finances”Inside Finances, there are three main areas:
- Revenue Share
- Client Billings
- Charges
Each one has a different job.
We’ll explain them one by one, slowly and clearly.
Charges (Most important)
Section titled “Charges (Most important)”What are Charges?
Section titled “What are Charges?”Charges are the prices for services.
In simple terms:
- This is where you say “This service costs this much.”
- JMS uses these charges when billing clients.
Think of it like a menu at a restaurant:
- The menu = Charges
- The bill = Client Billing
What you see on the Charges screen
Section titled “What you see on the Charges screen”The screen is split into sections (cards), for example:
- Common Add-Ons
- Other Add-Ons
- Payroll Charges
- Time Clock
Each section groups similar charges together.
Inside each section, you see a table.
Understanding the Charges table
Section titled “Understanding the Charges table”Each row is one charge.
Each column means:
- Charge → The name of the service
- Hard Cost → What it costs you
- Suggested Price → What you charge the client
Example:
If it costs you $1 and you charge $5, the difference is your margin.
Actions menu (Top right)
Section titled “Actions menu (Top right)”At the top right, you’ll see Actions.
Clicking this gives you options like:
- Export → Download the charges list
- Add Charge → Create a new charge
- Delete Charge → Remove a charge
In the demo video, this is shown as “click Actions → choose what you want to do.”
Adding a new charge
Section titled “Adding a new charge”How to add a charge
Section titled “How to add a charge”- Click Actions
- Select Add Charge
- A popup opens
What you must fill in
Section titled “What you must fill in”- Title → Name of the charge
- Category → What group it belongs to
- Amount → Hard cost
- Suggested Charge → Price for the client
Click Add Charge to save.
The charge now appears in the list.
Editing a charge
Section titled “Editing a charge”Next to a charge, you may see an edit icon.
- Click the edit icon
- Change the value
- Click the green check to save
- Or click cancel to undo
This helps you make quick price changes safely.
Deleting a charge
Section titled “Deleting a charge”To remove a charge:
- Open Actions
- Choose Delete Charge
- Confirm
Be careful — deleting removes it completely.
Client Billings
Section titled “Client Billings”What is Client Billings?
Section titled “What is Client Billings?”Client Billings shows how clients are charged using the charges you set.
Simple explanation:
- Charges = price list
- Client Billings = who gets billed and how much
What you see here
Section titled “What you see here”You’ll usually see:
- A list of clients
- Billing-related information
- Status indicators
This area helps you review and manage billing, not set prices.
In the demo, this is shown as “view billing, not change prices.”
Revenue Share
Section titled “Revenue Share”What is Revenue Share?
Section titled “What is Revenue Share?”Revenue Share shows how money is split.
This is often used for:
- Franchise setups
- Partner agreements
- Shared earnings
Think of it like:
“When money comes in, who gets what?”
What you do here
Section titled “What you do here”Depending on permissions, you can:
- View revenue splits
- Adjust percentages
- Review totals
You usually review more than edit in this section.
How Finances works together
Section titled “How Finances works together”Here’s the big picture:
- Charges → Define prices
- Client Billings → Apply prices to clients
- Revenue Share → Split the money
Each part depends on the one before it.
Superdemo-friendly design
Section titled “Superdemo-friendly design”This page is written so:
- Each section = one demo chapter
- Each button = one clear action
- Reading or watching gives the same understanding
If you can read this, you can use Finances.
You’re doing great
Section titled “You’re doing great”You don’t need to understand everything at once.
Start with:
- Charges
- Then Client Billings
- Then Revenue Share
That’s how JMS is designed.
Next up Sales (we’ll do that next).
