Finances

The Finances section is where JMS handles money-related setup.

Think of it like a price list + billing control room:

  • What you charge
  • How much things cost
  • How clients get billed
  • How revenue is shared

This guide matches the Finances Superdemo video.

Inside Finances, there are three main areas:

  1. Revenue Share
  2. Client Billings
  3. Charges

Each one has a different job.
We’ll explain them one by one, slowly and clearly.

Charges are the prices for services.

In simple terms:

  • This is where you say “This service costs this much.”
  • JMS uses these charges when billing clients.

Think of it like a menu at a restaurant:

  • The menu = Charges
  • The bill = Client Billing

The screen is split into sections (cards), for example:

  • Common Add-Ons
  • Other Add-Ons
  • Payroll Charges
  • Time Clock

Each section groups similar charges together.

Inside each section, you see a table.

Each row is one charge.

Each column means:

  • Charge → The name of the service
  • Hard Cost → What it costs you
  • Suggested Price → What you charge the client

Example:

If it costs you $1 and you charge $5, the difference is your margin.

At the top right, you’ll see Actions.

Clicking this gives you options like:

  • Export → Download the charges list
  • Add Charge → Create a new charge
  • Delete Charge → Remove a charge

In the demo video, this is shown as “click Actions → choose what you want to do.”

  1. Click Actions
  2. Select Add Charge
  3. A popup opens
  • Title → Name of the charge
  • Category → What group it belongs to
  • Amount → Hard cost
  • Suggested Charge → Price for the client

Click Add Charge to save.

The charge now appears in the list.

Next to a charge, you may see an edit icon.

  1. Click the edit icon
  2. Change the value
  3. Click the green check to save
  4. Or click cancel to undo

This helps you make quick price changes safely.

To remove a charge:

  1. Open Actions
  2. Choose Delete Charge
  3. Confirm

Be careful — deleting removes it completely.

Client Billings shows how clients are charged using the charges you set.

Simple explanation:

  • Charges = price list
  • Client Billings = who gets billed and how much

You’ll usually see:

  • A list of clients
  • Billing-related information
  • Status indicators

This area helps you review and manage billing, not set prices.

In the demo, this is shown as “view billing, not change prices.”

Revenue Share shows how money is split.

This is often used for:

  • Franchise setups
  • Partner agreements
  • Shared earnings

Think of it like:

“When money comes in, who gets what?”

Depending on permissions, you can:

  • View revenue splits
  • Adjust percentages
  • Review totals

You usually review more than edit in this section.

Here’s the big picture:

  1. Charges → Define prices
  2. Client Billings → Apply prices to clients
  3. Revenue Share → Split the money

Each part depends on the one before it.

This page is written so:

  • Each section = one demo chapter
  • Each button = one clear action
  • Reading or watching gives the same understanding

If you can read this, you can use Finances.

You don’t need to understand everything at once.

Start with:

  1. Charges
  2. Then Client Billings
  3. Then Revenue Share

That’s how JMS is designed.

Next up Sales (we’ll do that next).
